CM Pushkar Dhami has approved Rs 54 crore to strengthen Uttarakhand Disaster Management and improve the state’s infrastructure. The funding is part of the Disaster Mitigation Fund and will be utilized for road repairs, flood protection, school reconstruction, and irrigation projects.
Under this initiative, Chhampawat district will receive Rs 32.93 crore for flood protection along the Sharda River, with the first installment of Rs 13.17 crore already released. Funding has also been approved for road safety measures to enhance infrastructure resilience.
In Pithoragarh district, the approval includes building protective walls for villages, entry gates, and road construction in the Munsiyari area. CM Pushkar Dhami also sanctioned Rs 34 crore for disaster relief across Dehradun, Bageshwar, and Uttarkashi, further boosting Uttarakhand Disaster Management efforts.

Additional assistance has been approved for the families of victims affected by recent disasters in Uttarkashi. Schools in Raipur (Dehradun) will undergo repair and reconstruction, irrigation canals will be built in Almora, and development projects in Khatima will also receive funding.
CM Pushkar Dhami emphasized that this initiative is a crucial step toward strengthening Uttarakhand Disaster Management and ensuring that the state is better prepared for future emergencies. By allocating these funds, the government aims to enhance the safety of citizens, safeguard infrastructure, and promote sustainable development in vulnerable areas.
