Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini called for a shift towards smart, transparent, and people-centric policing during a state-level security conference held in Panchkula. Speaking on the theme “Viksit Bharat – Security Dimensions,” the Chief Minister emphasized that the role of police extends beyond crime control, highlighting their responsibility in building public trust and ensuring a sense of security among citizens. He noted that in any democracy, public trust in law enforcement is one of its most valuable assets.

Presiding over the event, CM Nayab Singh Saini stressed the significance of a strong and impartial law enforcement system for the state’s sustained development. He pointed out that the success of key sectors such as investment, industry, education, and healthcare is directly tied to the efficiency, integrity, and professionalism of the police force.

The Chief Minister further noted that police officers are not just enforcers of law and order; they are the bedrock of good governance and social stability. He praised the courage, dedication, and discipline of Haryana Police officers and jawans, who work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of the state’s citizens.

Insights from Prime Minister’s Conference on Police Strategy

Recalling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s participation in the 60th All India Conference of Directors General of Police and Inspectors General of Police in Raipur last year, CM Saini said the Prime Minister’s insights during the conference are now guiding police strategies at the state level. These principles are helping shape the future of policing in Haryana.

Successful Operations Against Criminal Activities

CM Nayab Singh Saini also shared the successes of Haryana Police’s recent operations, particularly Operation Hotspot Domination, which targeted inter-state gangs, drug traffickers, and cybercriminals. In just 12 days, over 2,000 criminals were arrested. Furthermore, Operation Track Town led to the arrest of 7,587 criminals in 23 days, along with the seizure of illegal property worth Rs. 168 crore. These initiatives have made a significant impact in curbing criminal activities across the state.

Technology Integration in Policing

Emphasizing the role of technology in modern policing, CM Saini urged the installation of CCTV cameras in crime-sensitive areas to enhance surveillance and improve crime-solving capabilities. Focus on De-Addiction and Public Awareness

Addressing another major concern, CM Saini highlighted the ongoing efforts to combat drug abuse in the state. While strict action is being taken against drug offenders, he also underlined the importance of raising public awareness about the dangers of addiction. The Haryana government has been actively organizing events like cyclothons and marathons as part of its anti-drug campaign, which has been showing positive results.

Promoting Women Empowerment in Policing

In a historic move, Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Sumita Misra announced that the state government plans to increase the representation of women in the police force from 15% to 25%. This initiative reflects the Haryana government’s strong commitment to women empowerment and inclusive policing. Furthermore, the state is recruiting 5,750 new police personnel, including 950 women officers, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the police force.

Director General of Police Sh. O.P. Singh, speaking at the conference, reinforced the significance of technology in modern policing. He pointed out that tools such as CCTV cameras have played a vital role in solving major cases and improving the overall effectiveness of law enforcement efforts.
