CM Nitish Kumar today inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of water supply schemes and building structures worth Rs 7,166.6 crore under ‘Har Ghar Nal Ka Jal’ scheme through remote at ‘Sankalp’, 1, Anney Marg. Along with this, he also laid the foundation stone of the headquarters building of the Public Health Engineering Department at a cost of Rs 83 crore.
On this occasion, Principal Secretary Public Health Engineering Department Mr. Pankaj Kumar said that regular and uninterrupted water supply is being ensured to the people in the state. The state government is providing 70 litres of drinking water per person per day to every rural household as per national standards, which is 16 litres more than the national average. All water supply projects constructed under ‘Har Ghar Nal Ka Jal “scheme are being operated and maintained by Public Health Engineering Department. This initiative of CM Nitish Kumaris being appreciated all over the country.
During the programme, the Chief Minister directed the officials to ensure timely completion of the projects for which foundation stones have been laid. He also stressed on effective implementation and maintenance of the scheme so that people do not face any problem in regular supply of clean drinking water.
On the occasion, Principal Secretary of Public Health Engineering Department Pankaj Kumar welcomed CM Nitish Kumar by presenting him a green sapling and a logo.
A short film on various schemes of Public Health Engineering Department was also screened on the occasion. Prominent among present occasion included Additional Deputy Commissioners Vishesh Sarangal, Jasbir Singh, Assistant Commissioner Hardeep Singh, Deputy Director DBEE Jaswant Rai, DPO Gurminder Randhawa and others. District magistrates and other senior officials also joined the meeting through video conferencing.
