CM Nitish Kumar extended warm greetings and best wishes to the women of the state and the country on the occasion of International Women’s Day. Paying respect to women, he said that they are an integral part of the society and their contribution is very important in the development of any state or country. Women are creating new identities in various fields on the strength of their talent, and the state government is making continuous efforts for their empowerment.
Several welfare schemes like Mukhyamantri Balika Vastu Yojana, Mukhyamantri Balika Cycle Yojana, Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana, Mukhyamantri Kanya Utthan Yojana, Jeevika are being run by the state government to promote women empowerment. Apart from this, initiatives like 35% reservation for women in government services, 50% reservation in Panchayati Raj institutions and municipal elections have been taken, due to which women are playing an important role in the progress of the state by becoming self-reliant. Women have also got special benefits from the decision of prohibition, which they are extremely happy.
CM Nitish Kumar said that on International Women’s Day, all of us should take a pledge to continuously strive for sustainable development and empowerment of women so that they get a safe and better environment along with social and economic progress.
