Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath said that health and education are the basic requirements for any civilized and developed society. An educated society can pursue infinite possibilities of development, while a healthy society can build its own strong foundation. Uttar Pradesh has established itself as a major economy of the country by making extensive reforms in the education system.
In Bareilly, CM Yogi Adityanath launched ‘School Chalo Abhiyan’ and ‘Special Communicable Disease Control Campaign-2025’. He flagged off 2,554 new state-of-the-art ambulances and inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 132 development projects worth Rs 933 crore. On the occasion, he also distributed certificates, cheques, tablets / smartphones to beneficiaries of various public welfare schemes and educational materials to school children.
Greeting the people of the state on Basantik Navratri, CM Yogi Adityanath said that Uttar Pradesh, which was earlier considered a BIMARU state, has now emerged as the growth engine of developed India. Continuous efforts are being made to take the state’s economy to the top position in the country.
He described the ‘School Chalo Abhiyan’ as the foundation of education and appealed to all citizens to participate in it. He stressed that strong school education will automatically strengthen higher, technical and medical education. Students of Uttar Pradesh will play a leading role in modern courses.
The government has made a lot of changes in the education sector. In 2017, 60% of the 1.34 crore children enrolled did not go to school, but with the rejuvenation of schools and financial assistance, the enrolment increased to 1.91 crore. Under Operation Kayakalp, facilities like drinking water, smart classes, digital library, furniture and isolation toilets were made available in 96% schools. Further, more than 1.25 lakh teachers have been recruited and 1,500 schools are being upgraded.
The state has also made remarkable progress in the health sector. Before 2017, there were only 12 government medical colleges in the state, which has now increased to more than 80. The government has expanded medical facilities under the ‘One District, One Medical College’ scheme. At the same time, awareness campaigns and health services have been expanded to control communicable diseases. More than 2,500 ambulances have been deployed, reducing the response time of emergency services to 7 minutes.
CM Yogi Adityanath said that effective control over diseases like malaria, dengue and encephalitis has been found in the state. The government is making continuous efforts to further strengthen the health services so that every citizen can get better medical facilities.
