CM Yogi Adityanath said that the double engine government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working with full commitment to implement public welfare schemes effectively. All sections are getting the benefit of government schemes without any discrimination, thereby realising the vision of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’. The government is striving to make the youth self-reliant and give priority to sustainable development.
CM Yogi Adityanath was speaking on the occasion of the inauguration of the new tehsil building built at a cost of Rs 8.45 crore and the foundation stone of the tehsil personnel’s residential building at Mihirpurwa (Motipur) in Bahraich district. Before the programme, he planted a sapling in the temple premises.
The historical significance of Bahraich
CM Yogi Adityanath said that the land of Bahraich is associated with the Rishi tradition. The famous ashram of Maharishi Balarak was located here and that is why this area got the name Bahraich. This is the land where Maharaja Suheldev established Indian pride by defeating foreign invaders. The result of his valour was that for 150 years no foreign invader dared to invade India.
Administrative Reforms and Resolution of Revenue Matters
CM Yogi Adityanath said that the tehsil is very important for a common citizen as land records, measurement, conversion, distribution and other revenue-related matters are resolved here. Before 2017, more than 33 lakh revenue cases were pending in the state, which used to cause disputes. The government has fixed the time limit for disposal of litigation by implementing the Revenue Code and now accountability will be fixed for negligence at any level.
He said that the Anti-Bhoomafiya Task Force has freed 64,000 acres of land from illegal occupation, which is now being used for investment. The government is setting up village secretariats in every village of the state, where facilities like optical fiber and Wi-Fi will be available. With this, banking, certificates and other government services will be available in the village itself.
Land Measurement and Tehsil Reforms through Modern Technology
CM Yogi Adityanath said that now rigging in land measurement will not be able to run. The government will use satellite-based technology to ensure that no part of the land of the poor is taken away wrongfully. For this, there was a need for strong tehsil buildings, which the government is fulfilling. Now the tehsil officers will solve the problems of the people immediately by staying in the residential complex.
He said that fire stations are being set up in every tehsil so that there is no loss of life and property in disasters like fire. At the same time, work is being done on a large scale to facilitate roads and transport facilities.
Development works and tourism potential of Bahraich
CM Yogi Adityanath said that the GDP of Bahraich was only Rs 6,934 crore in the year 2017, which increased to more than Rs 25,000 crore in 2023-24. He announced to provide interest-free loans up to Rs 5 lakh to the youth under the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan so that they can get better employment opportunities.
He said that there is immense potential for tourism in the state. The Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary here is being developed as an eco-tourism hub. A medical college has been built in Bahraich, and soon the victory memorial of Maharaj Suheldev will also be dedicated to the public. Better road connectivity has been established from Lucknow to Bahraich, so that tourists can easily come here.

CM Yogi Adityanath informed that more than 2.10 lakh poor people have got houses in Bahraich under the Prime Minister and Chief Minister Housing Scheme. In addition:
Toilet facilities were provided to 4.12 lakh poor people.
An annual pension of Rs.12,000 is being provided to 66,200 destitute women, 1.29 lakh old age persons and 20,000 disabled persons.
More than 52,800 girls have benefited from the Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana, under which the government provides financial assistance of Rs 25,000.
Thousands of marriages have been conducted under the Chief Minister’s Mass Marriage Scheme, and now the amount of this scheme is being increased from Rs 51,000 to Rs 1 lakh.

CM Yogi Adityanath said that after the successful organization of Mahakumbh 2025, the eyes of the world are on Uttar Pradesh. The Prime Minister has also praised the efforts of Mahakumbh and the people of the state. During the Mahakumbh, more than 66 crore devotees reached the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati, which is a unique example of India’s Sanatan culture.
