CM Yogi Adityanath has expressed the need to increase the annual income limit of Rs 2 lakh to Rs 3 lakh for the ‘Mukhyamantri Samuhik Vivah Yojana’. The Chief Minister said that this scheme has become an important support for the deprived class. So that more and more people can take advantage of it, it is necessary to increase the income limit for eligibility.
CM Yogi Adityanath was reviewing the functioning of the Social Welfare Department at a meeting held at his official residence today. He said that the state government has decided to increase the amount of Rs 51,000 currently being given for the marriage of each eligible newly married couple under the ‘Mukhyamantri Samuhik Vivah Yojana’ to Rs 1 lakh from the new financial year. Out of this amount, 60 thousand rupees will be deposited in the bank account of the bride, while the newly married couple will be given a gift of 25 thousand rupees, and the remaining 15 thousand rupees will be spent on the wedding ceremony. The Chief Minister directed the officials to implement the scheme immediately.
Further, CM Yogi Adityanath reviewed the present status of the ‘Old Age Pension Scheme “and expressed the need to ensure that no eligible elderly person is deprived of pension. He said that in order to implement the scheme in a better way, it should be linked to Family ID. On joining Family ID, as soon as a destitute elderly person turns 60 years of age, he will start getting pension immediately. The Chief Minister directed the officials to make necessary technical arrangements to increase this coverage.
