CM Yogi Adityanath held a meeting with public representatives and officials at Circuit House Auditorium in Varanasi today to review the development works and law and order situation in the district. He directed that the ongoing development projects in the district should be completed in a campaign mode with fixed timelines and high quality. These works should be regularly monitored and the designated nodal officers should monitor its progress and quality. Safety standards must be adhered to during construction.
Referring to the success of ‘Operation Sindoor’ of the Indian Army, CM Yogi Adityanath stressed on further strengthening the security arrangements in the district. He directed to keep a vigilant watch on Urban Naxals and their associated organisations and take strict action.
He asked to take strict action against activities like cow-smuggling and illegal mining in the border districts of Varanasi zone. He directed to start the process of auctioning the seized vehicles soon. Stringent action should be taken in cases of chain snatching and robbery, he said. He also directed to install adequate number of CCTV cameras and conduct verification of suspected persons in view of safe city.
He directed to expedite the construction of the Integrated Divisional Office and all the officers to conduct public hearings on a daily basis and provide immediate justice to the victims. CM Yogi Adityanath said that revenue related matters should be settled on the basis of merit. The general public should not be unnecessarily harassed for documents like birth and death certificates.
CM Yogi Adityanath directed to complete the construction of the boundary wall of Sampurnanand Sanskrit University by June 2025. He asked the Municipal Corporation and Development Authority to improve their works. In view of the summer heat, drinking water supply and sanitation in urban and rural areas should be maintained. He also gave instructions to clean the drains and remove silt before the rains.
CM Yogi Adityanath asked for expeditious completion of township and road connectivity works around the under-construction international cricket stadium at Ganjari. He directed to complete the sewerage work in Ramnagar-Sujabad area soon and connect the drains to the main drain to drain out the water from the houses. To ensure that the roads are free of encroachments and the traffic system is not disrupted, he asked to identify suitable places for bus, taxi and rickshaw stands.
CM Yogi Adityanath asked to complete the works of Kajakpura flyover in coordination with the Railways and to inspect the villages along with the people’s representatives to monitor the ‘Har Ghar Nal “scheme. He also directed to expedite the Varuna river restoration work and take special care that there is no hindrance in the movement of local citizens during the airport expansion.
It was informed in the meeting that 60 projects worth about 14 thousand crore rupees are under construction in the district. 18 projects related to roads and bridges are also in progress. One lane of Ring Road Phase-2 will start by the end of May and the rest of the work will be completed by December. Many other road projects have been completed more than 90%, the budget for the rest has been approved.
During the inspection, the Chief Minister visited the National Centre for Ageing at IMS and Critical Care Centre at Trauma Centre on the BHU campus. He asked the officials to complete the works within the stipulated time frame. This will be the third such centre in the country where the entire medical facility will be available to the elderly at one place.
He also offered prayers at Shri Kaal Bhairav Mandir and Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
The review meeting was attended by Labour Minister Anil Rajbhar, Minister of State Ravindra Jaiswal, AYUSH Minister Dr Dayashankar Mishra ‘Dayalu’ and many public representatives and senior officials.
