CM Yogi Adityanath said that both success and failure are important in life. Success depends on how we started the work. If we start with positive thinking and energy with the team, then success is certain. Success that takes time is permanent, while the success achieved through shortcuts is temporary. Live Times has made good progress in a short time and has established itself amidst challenges.
He was speaking at the inauguration of ‘LT Exchange’ programme of Live Times channel. He described Uttar Pradesh as the heartland of the country and said that the state was once the leading economy of the country but was suffering from identity crisis before 2014. Before 2017, the youth here was far from self-confidence, and the per capita income was very low.
Now UP has become the second largest economy in the country and is poised to become a $1 trillion economy by 2029. Those whom the government did not ask earlier, now the benefits of the schemes are also reaching them, such as Kol, Tharu, Musahar etc. tribes. The Chief Minister said that when the policy is clear and the intention is good, success is certain.
The state has 55% of the country’s expressway network, the most metro, railway and air connectivity is also better here. The country’s first rapid rail and inland waterway also started in UP. UP is playing a leading role in more than 45 central government schemes today.
Talking about Swachh Bharat Mission, he said that when it was reviewed in 2017, only 40 lakh toilets were built as against the target of 34.5 crore. The state government achieved this target by constructing 2.71 crore toilets in a year. With this cleanliness campaign, diseases like malaria and encephalitis have been controlled.
For farmers, labourers, youth and women, the government has taken many concrete steps. So far, more than 56 lakh houses have been provided to the poor. Rationing, loan waivers, direct access to schemes and improving law and order has been a priority.
The Chief Minister described the ‘One Janpad One Product’ scheme as a symbol of swadeshi and respect, which has benefited and provided employment to the artisans. During the Corona period, UP was the only state which took its workers to their homes and connected them to MSME units.
The state government has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against crime and corruption. Now festivals and feasts are celebrated peacefully. Before 2017, the number of tourists was in lakhs, now it has reached crores. In 2023-24 alone, 66 crore devotees visited the Mahakumbh, and this year the number of tourists is estimated at 100 crore.
Both tourism and investment are giving new energy to the economy. Earlier, no investor used to come, but now UP has become a major destination for investment. 40 lakh crore worth of investment proposals were received at the Global Investors Summit 2023. With the help of technology, a single window system has been implemented, due to which investors are able to connect easily.
