CM Yogi Adityanath said that public participation, innovation, transparency and time-bound implementation are the keys to success in connecting aspirational blocks and districts with the mainstream. The government is working with full commitment for the overall development of these areas. He directed that all the departments should collectively move towards their respective goals under a concrete strategy.
The Chief Minister reviewed the progress of aspirational districts and blocks at a high-level meeting held at his official residence. Reports of on-the-spot inspections carried out by senior officials, status of implementation of schemes, achievements of innovations and reforms required were discussed in detail.
According to the report, a total of 272 schools, 301 anganwadi centres, 232 health units, 229 gramme panchayat secretariats and 275 other institutions in 108 aspirational development blocks were inspected. There are 497 FPOs active in the state and 6,595 BC Sakhi are working in the field of financial inclusion. 106 development blocks have achieved their targets in line with the Block Development Strategy. In this sequence, the officers of the level of Principal Secretary also made an intensive tour of aspirational districts like Bahraich, Balrampur, Chandauli, Chitrakoot, Fatehpur, Siddharthnagar, Sonbhadra and Shravasti.
The Chief Minister directed to further strengthen the data collection system and ensure intensive monitoring of schemes on the basis of inspection reports. Effective arrangements for rehabilitation of flood affected people under ‘Maa Pateshwari Rehabilitation Scheme’ in Balrampur and improvement in health and nutrition indicators with the establishment of Common Service Centres in all Gramme Panchayats in Chitrakoot were presented to the Chief Minister. In Amethi’s Shukulbazar, CM fellows made 2,198 Ayushman cards door-to-door, activated weighing machines at 106 anganwadi centres and connected children to the Mukhyamantri Bal Seva Yojana.
The Chief Minister lauded the efforts of ‘Ashiana Bio Energy Farmer Producer Company’ operating in Kabrai development block of Mahoba, integrating handicrafts, biogas, farm machinery, organic farming, tourism and other activities. He also praised the efforts of Organic Lemon Production at Bansdih in Ballia and income from Beauty Parlour by Women Self Help Group at Pooredlai in Barabanki.
He described the Artificial Intelligence based Cancer Screening Centre set up at the Primary Health Centre level in Fatehpur as a great example of technological innovation and said that such experiments should be adopted in other districts as well.
Officials inspected schools, anganwadi centres, health units, village secretariats, nutrition rehabilitation centres and FPO units during the visit. The need for improvement in basic services, availability of human resources and service delivery was found in some areas, to which the Chief Minister directed the concerned departments for prompt and effective action.
He made it clear that aspirational districts and development blocks are in the top priority of the government, and vacancy of any important post in these areas is not acceptable. He also directed that while assigning additional charge, it should be ensured that the officer is able to work effectively at both the places. Giving charge to officers from outside districts may affect the pace of work, which should be avoided at all costs.
