CM Yogi said that the government’s clear policy, honest intent, and strong will to act are visible today in form of UP’s rapid development—this is foundation of a self-reliant and developed India.
Under the state’s new industrial policy, Etah has now received a major gift with the establishment of the Shree Cement Plant.Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, CM Yogi Adityanath noted that Etah, once known for crime and mafia dominance, is today recognized for modern infrastructure, four-lane connectivity, welfare schemes, good law and order, and fast-paced growth. Etah is now home to a power plant, a cement plant, and the traditional craft of Jalesar’s ghungroos and bells, which are gaining global recognition under the “One District, One Product” scheme.
CM Yogi highlighted that the Jawaharpur thermal power plant generates around 1,500 MW of electricity, and now, with Shree Cement investing about ₹750 crore, employment is being created both directly and indirectly. While 500 people got direct jobs, nearly 3,000 have gained indirect opportunities. He emphasized that consistent investments are opening new avenues for jobs and entrepreneurship across the state.
He praised Shree Cement for its commitment, noting their previous renewable energy investment in Chitrakoot and their CSR efforts, such as providing free cement for the welfare of families of martyred soldiers—benefiting 183 families so far. He assured the company that all commitments made under the state’s policy will be honored.
Highlighting law and order as the foundation of development, the CM said that a secure environment ensures youth do not need to migrate for jobs. The government is offering equal opportunities for all, evident from the recent recruitment of 60,244 police personnel, including many from Etah. Alongside jobs, youth are being encouraged to become entrepreneurs through schemes like the CM Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan, under which 70,000 young people have received interest-free and collateral-free loans.
He further said that under PM Modi’s leadership, India has emerged as the world’s fourth-largest economy and is on track to become the third-largest within two years. Uttar Pradesh, once ranked 7th in state economies, is now 2nd in India due to effective policies, investment-friendly environment, and ₹45 lakh crore worth of proposals, out of which ₹15 lakh crore have already been implemented, generating 60 lakh job opportunities.
The CM stressed that Uttar Pradesh’s progress is inseparable from India’s development, as one-sixth of the nation’s population resides here. He reiterated that by 2047, India must become fully developed, and UP will play a central role. A roadmap for “Viksit Bharat – Viksit Uttar Pradesh” has already been debated extensively in the state assembly, and action plans are being drawn up with expert and public consultation at the district level.
On this occasion, the CM also visited the Shree Cement Plant premises and participated in a plantation drive. Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’ and other dignitaries were present.
