Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath said that the new India is constantly moving towards progress – not stopping, not bending or falling. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s developed India campaign, Uttar Pradesh is also playing an important role in accelerating the country’s economy as a self-reliant and developed state.
CM Yogi was the chief guest at the golden jubilee celebrations of Central Electronics Limited (CEL) and foundation stone laying ceremony of Green Field Data Centre at Sahibabad in Ghaziabad. On this occasion, he along with Union Minister of State for Science & Technology Dr Jitendra Singh performed Bhoomi Pujan and laid the foundation stone. CEL presented a dividend cheque of ₹21 crore to the Government of India, while an agreement was signed with MultiInfra for 200 MW solar module production.
CM Yogi said that the once loss-making CEL has now become a profitable mini-ratna company. He appreciated the technological capabilities of CEL, especially the work being done in solar energy, railways, defence and renewable energy sectors.
He also mentioned that CEL, established in 1974, has been among India’s leading solar module manufacturing companies and today is setting up the country’s first state-of-the-art technology enabled data centre, which is one of its kind.
CM Yogi said that Uttar Pradesh has made tremendous economic progress in the last 8 years. While earlier the state was considered ‘BIMARU’, now it has become one of the fastest growing states in the country. The per capita income of the state has increased two and a half times and 6 crore people have come out of the poverty line.
Talking about the boom in industry, investment and infrastructure, he informed that the state has so far received investment proposals worth ₹50 lakh crore, out of which projects worth ₹15 lakh crore have been grounded and production has started in many.
On the achievements of Uttar Pradesh in the defence sector, he informed that six-node defence corridors are being developed in the state, in which investment proposals worth Rs 25,000 crore have been received so far. The work of BrahMos missile manufacturing has started in the Lucknow node, and many equipment related to the missile are being manufactured by companies like CEL.
He said India’s BrahMos and Akash missiles have been effectively used on Pakistan and are now trusted by the world.
The Chief Minister said that Uttar Pradesh has to achieve the target of 20,000 MW renewable energy generation by the year 2027. For this, many schemes have been started in the field of solar energy.
In the field of education, he informed that under Operation Kayakalp, 1.91 crore students are studying in government schools in the state and many of these schools are now equipped with smart classrooms. Smart boards manufactured by CEL have also been installed in these institutions.
CM Yogi emphasised that in line with the spirit of the Prime Minister, the state is also working rapidly in the direction of connecting educational institutions with industries. He called upon CEL to collaborate in furthering innovation, research and startup culture through universities and educational institutions.
Dr Jitendra Singh also praised the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath and said that Uttar Pradesh is setting new records of development. He informed that the country’s first quantum unit will be set up in the campus of IIT Kanpur in Noida and a biotech park will also be built near Lucknow. Apart from this, a grand Startup Conclave is also planned to be held in the state.
The Minister for Electronics & IT, Shri Sunil Kumar Sharma, the Minister of State for Social Welfare, Shri Aseem Arun, the Minister for Backward Classes Welfare and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Shri Narendra Kumar Kashyap and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
