Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath paid floral tributes to late Shri Lalji Tandon, former Governor of Bihar and Madhya Pradesh and former Minister of Uttar Pradesh, on the occasion of his 90th birth anniversary here today.
Addressing the program organized on the occasion, CM Yogi said that late Lalji Tandon was dedicated to nationalistic values throughout his life and he always performed his duties faithfully. His personality and work are still an inspiration to all of us. When a person walks on the path of values and ideals, it does not take long to reach success – Late Tandon was an excellent example of this.
CM Yogi said that late Tandon maintained his strong presence in the politics of the state and the country for about seven decades. From an ordinary worker to a councillor in the Lucknow Municipal Corporation, a member of the Legislative Council, an MLA, a minister and an MP, he set an example of public service. His spirit of sharing in the joys and sorrows of the common people has been experienced by all.
CM Yogi has a large following, and the Chief Minister urged them to stay connected with the values and ideals of Shri Tandon.
CM Yogi also said that when any aggrieved person used to come to Shri Tandon for help, they used to help him by removing every obstacle. He had deep empathy for the victims and was always ready to serve. Even as Governor, he performed his constitutional duties honestly and efficiently and maintained cordial relations with all political parties and the people.
Yogi also paid tributes to late Shri Ashutosh Tandon ‘Gopal’ and said that like his father, he also made a positive impact in the society with his works. Conveying his condolences to the Tandon family, he assured that the party and the government are always with them.
Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Social Welfare Asim Arun, MP Brajlal and Lucknow Mayor Sushma Kharkwal were among the dignitaries present on the occasion.
