Uttar Pradesh CM YOGI Adityanath said that whenever the country will talk about protecting its Swadesh, self-respect and Swadharma, the name of Maharana Pratap as well as Danveer Bhamashah will be automatically remembered. Bhamashah was born on June 29, 1547 on the land of Rajasthan, which is a symbol of devotion and power. He was a merchant by profession and was loyal to the Mewar dynasty. He was made the General Secretary and all the donation letters of Mewar were prepared by him.
CM YOGI Adityanath said this at a function organised at Lok Bhawan Auditorium on the occasion of ‘Vyapari Kalyan Diwas’, which was held on the eve of Bhamashah Jayanti. On the occasion, he awarded the highest revenue tax paying businessmen with ‘Bhamashah Samman’ and also felicitated the traders who have made a special contribution to the society. He paid floral tributes to the portrait of Bharat Mata and Bhamashah and a short film on the business-friendly environment of the state was also screened on the occasion.
Referring to history, CM YOGI Adityanath pointed out that even when most of the kings had accepted Akbar’s submission, Mewar did not surrender. In the battle of Haldighati, Maharana Pratap fought Akbar’s huge army with only 20,000 soldiers, but he had to take shelter in the forests. For a long time he lived a difficult life, but never compromised for his self-esteem and country. In those difficult times, Bhamashah dedicated his entire property to Maharana Pratap for the reorganisation of the army. This cooperation was so great that an army of 25,000 soldiers could run with the same support for 12 years and Maharana Pratap regained many forts including Chittor.
CM YOGI Adityanath said that the spirit of patriotism that was in Bhamashah and Maharana Pratap 500 years ago, is today moving forward as the spirit of ‘Nation First’ under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He made it clear that religion and society will be safe only when the country is safe.
Referring to the three tendencies of wealth – charity, enjoyment and destruction, CM YOGI Adityanath said that wealth should be used in the interest of society and the nation. He said that Srimad Bhagavad Gita also gives the same message that charity given at the right time, place and character is the best.
The Chief Minister said that it is the duty of the present generation to take the memory of great men like Bhamashah and Maharana Pratap to the people. He said that Bhamashah Jayanti should be celebrated on 29th June every year and under the ‘Vyapari Kalyan Diwas’, 10 traders who paid the highest GST in each district should be honoured. The highest tax paying businessmen at the state level should be honoured in the capital Lucknow. Apart from this, an insurance amount of ₹10 lakh should be provided to the next of kin of the traders who died in the accident through the Traders Welfare Board.
CM YOGI Adityanath called upon all the traders to cooperate in works like employment generation, pollution-free system and environmental protection. The business community should take social responsibility by joining campaigns like ‘One District, One River’ and ‘One Tree, Mother’s Name’. He said that the State Government is fully committed to protect the interests of the traders.
Recalling the contribution of Bhamashah, Minister for Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Suresh Kumar Khanna said that when Maharana Pratap needed the most, Bhamashah had dedicated his entire property at his feet. He said that the Chief Minister has created a conducive environment for business by establishing better law and order in the state and the initiative to celebrate Bhamashah Jayanti as’ Vyapari Kalyan Diwas “has been organised under the same.

Devraj, Principal Secretary Tourism and Culture Mr. Mukesh Meshram, Former Chairman Traders Welfare Board Mr. Ravikant Garg, National President of Udyog Vyapar Mandal Mr. Sandeep Bansal and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
