Dhami: On the second day of his visit to New Delhi on Wednesday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met with several union ministers and asked for their assistance in advancing Uttarakhand’s development.
During his meeting with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Dhami asked Singh to provide the State the Defence Estates Department’s land in Nainital so that it may be developed into tourist and pilgrim parking facilities. He claimed that Nainital, a popular tourist destination, has developed into a significant hub for religion and spirituality in recent years. According to Dhami, there has been a significant surge in the number of pilgrims visiting the Neem Karorli Maharaj Ashram. Those who come to this ashram stay in Nainital because it’s close by.
According to him, parking is a significant issue in Nainital. According to Dhami, the Ministry of Defence’s defence estates department owns a three-acre land in Nainital. He claimed that if this property were used for parking, Nainital’s parking issue would be resolved. The CM stated that 1500–2000 cars may be stored here if a multilevel parking structure was built on this area of land close to Nainital Lake.
Additionally, he complimented Singh on his reappointment as the nation’s minister of defense. The State government was promised every assistance conceivable by the minister of defense.
On Wednesday, Dhami met with a number of important people, including BJP president JP Nadda, federal minister Bhupendra Yadav, speaker of the Lok Sabha Om Birla, and member of the 16th financial commission Arvind Pangadia. The chief minister asked Bhupendra Yadav, the union minister for forests and environment, to accelerate the process of transferring 87.0815 hectares of forest land to the state government so that the Dehradun airport Jollygrant can be expanded.
