Gurugram is hit by pre-monsoon showers, with reports of waterlogging in several areas
Gurugram: Wazirabad experienced 55 mm of rain, Gurugram 30 mm, and Sohna Tehsil 82 mm of rain.
Pre-monsoon showers pounded the city for nearly the whole of Thursday night, giving Gurugram a sneak peek into what’s to come.
Many regions of the city were reported to be waterlogged, particularly in residential areas where residents were unable to leave their houses.
The areas most severely impacted are Greenwood City, Ardee City, Sectors 21 and 23, Caterpuri, Palam Vihar, and Bhim Nagar, according to early morning updates.
Locals used social media to draw attention to the situation.
Many adults and children were unable to get to work or school because their cars were underwater. Several housing societies’ entrance and exit gates were also flooded.
The issue got worse when the trash that was scattered over the city began to spill onto the roadways.
The administration reports that Wazirabad had 55 mm of rain, Gurugram 30 mm, and Sohna tehsil 82 mm. The least amount of rain fell in Pataudi, 3 mm.
