Partition Horrors Remembrance Day on August 14
Special programmes will be organised in all districts on August 14 to observe Partition Horrors Remembrance Day. The state-level programme will be held in Gurugram.
The event will include exhibitions, documentary screenings, cultural programmes and presentations highlighting the experiences and stories of families affected by the Partition.
The initiative is intended to help younger generations understand the difficult chapters of India’s history and remember the sacrifices and struggles associated with the period.
Focus on Youth and Community Participation
During the review meeting, Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi directed officials to ensure maximum participation from schools, colleges and universities.
Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), youth clubs, social organisations, self-help groups and local communities will also be encouraged to participate in the programmes.
The administration has been asked to ensure that the activities are organised effectively across all districts and that the message of unity and patriotism reaches a wider section of society.
Strengthening National Unity Through Public Participation
The Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan 2026 will combine patriotic activities with programmes focused on India’s freedom struggle, cultural heritage and democratic values.
Along with the Vande Mataram anniversary celebrations and Partition remembrance programmes, the campaign seeks to connect citizens with the country’s historical journey while reinforcing the values of unity, integrity and national pride.
With large-scale participation planned across Haryana, Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan 2026 is expected to turn the August celebrations into a broad public movement centred on the national flag, patriotism and collective participation.
