CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that the State Government is committed to ensure foolproof security arrangements in the State. He said that in the wake of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, appropriate security arrangements should be ensured everywhere in the state. District Collectors and Superintendents of Police have been asked to maintain law and order in their respective districts.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma held a meeting with Divisional Commissioners, Inspector Generals of Police, Commissioners of Police, District Collectors and District Superintendents of Police through video conferencing at the Chief Minister’s residence on Wednesday to review the security arrangements in the state. He directed to keep special vigil in the districts along the international border of the state and work in constant coordination with the security agencies deployed on the border.
Nation shocked by Pahalgam terror incident
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that the terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam is a condemnable and cowardly incident and the entire country is shocked by it. He said that in view of the seriousness of this tragic incident, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has left the foreign tour midway and returned to India and Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah has visited the site of the incident in Jammu and Kashmir. He said none of the terrorists who carried out this heinous attack will be able to escape from the security forces.
Chief Minister consoles family
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma prayed the almighty to give strength to the bereaved family members to bear this irreparable loss. Sharma also spoke to the family members of late Neeraj Udwani, a resident of Jaipur, who lost his life in the attack.
Take even the smallest incident seriously.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma directed that the smallest incident and information should be taken seriously and immediately informed to the higher authorities. Detailed guidelines issued by the Home Department regarding law and order in this regard should be strictly and literally followed. He said that the ADG Range in-charge should be in regular touch with the district administration and police and make regular visits to the range under his charge.
Adequate police force should be deployed in public places.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that special vigil should be maintained in public places, tourist places and crowded areas by deploying adequate police force so as to further strengthen the sense of security in the minds of tourists and the general public. He directed that frequent checking of places like hotels, dharamshalas should be done so that persons with suspicious activities can be identified in time.
Social media should be closely monitored.
Instructing strict monitoring of social media, CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that strict action should be taken against those spreading misleading and objectionable comments and rumours. Also, correct information should be disseminated through social media and other means and strict legal action should be taken against the persons spreading false information.
