Minister Baljit Kaur : Under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government has sanctioned ₹80 lakh in financial aid to Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to equip youth with skills and promote self-reliance. This was announced by Minister Baljit Kaur , Minister for Social Justice, Empowerment, and Minorities.
Minister Baljit Kaur elaborated that various NGOs across different districts are actively engaged in empowering youth and women through skill development programs such as cutting and tailoring, fashion designing, computer training, tally training, and beauty therapy. These initiatives aim to enhance self-employment opportunities.
She further revealed that ₹40 lakh has been allocated to four NGOs in Sri Muktsar Sahib district for skill training in cutting and tailoring, fashion designing, and computer education. Additionally, an NGO in Sangrur district has received ₹10 lakh for a cutting and tailoring course.
Moreover, three NGOs in Bathinda district have been granted ₹30 lakh to support skill development programs, enabling the youth to become financially independent.
Minister Baljit Kaur reaffirmed the Punjab Government’s dedication to social progress and improving the quality of life for the youth. She assured that similar initiatives would continue to be launched to foster self-reliance among the state’s young population.
