Minister Harjot Singh Bains : As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance Punjab’s school education system to global standards, the Punjab School Education Department has initiated the selection process for primary and elementary teachers seeking training at the University of Turku, Finland.
Providing details about the process, Punjab School Education Minister S. Harjot Singh Bains announced that the second batch of 72 primary and elementary teachers (BPEOs, CHTs, HTs) will undergo a three-week training program—one week in Punjab and two weeks in Finland. Interested teachers can apply online via the e-Punjab School portal (epunjabschool.gov.in) until February 2, 2025, by 5 PM.
He specified that applicants must be 43 years old or younger, while the age limit for HT, CHT, and BPEOs is capped at 48 years as of January 31, 2025. Candidates must also hold a valid Indian passport that remains valid until at least September 2025 and have no pending charge sheets, inquiries, or criminal cases.
Additionally, applicants must submit 20 references showcasing their contributions—10 from parents of current students and 10 from former students. The verification process, led by District Education Officers (Elementary Education), will commence on February 3. Candidates meeting the initial requirements will move to the next round, where selections will be based on academic qualifications, experience, ACRs, interview-cum-presentation performance, and contributions to quality education.
Encouraging eligible teachers to seize this opportunity, S. Harjot Singh Bains emphasized that the Punjab Government, under Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann’s leadership, is committed to upskilling educators and positioning Punjab as a frontrunner in school education nationwide.
