The shifting dynamics of higher education and discussing life values in the modern context is important
Chief Minister Innaugrates 17th conference of the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that India’s illustrious history has been a global center of higher education since ancient times. He noted that prestigious universities like Takshashila and Nalanda attracted students and princes from various countries. Remarkably, historical records reveal no instance of individuals or rulers educated in India waging attacks on other states. This underscores the profound life values and moral principles embedded in India’s ancient education system. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav made these remarks while addressing the 17th Conference of the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific, held at Hotel Taj on Tuesday. He inaugurated the event with ceremonial lamp lighting.
Many past to present events occurred due to difference of attitude towards life values
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that this conference organized on ‘Changing nature of higher education and our life values’ is of contemporary importance. Many incidents from past to present happened as a result of differences in outlook towards life values. Be it Ravana in the Ramayana or Kauravas in the Mahabharata , no one was less able and capable, but their life values and moral values were not proper, which is why they were not respected and were always rejected in society and history. Karna’s abilities were amazing, but his vision, vengeance, stubbornness and negative emotions led to his downfall. We also get similar examples of Ravana who built his Sone ki Lanka. Despite his glory and power, he was never accepted and on the basis of moral values, a Vanvasi Shri Ram defeated him. That is, it was the victory of moral values and life values.
Many innovations are being implemented through the new education policy
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, addressing the Russia-Ukraine war and the Israel conflict, emphasized that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s efforts for peace amidst these crises reflect the enduring strength of Indian ideals and life values. Highlighting advancements in education, Dr. Yadav stated that the New Education Policy of 2020 has introduced a more flexible, simplified, and engaging approach to learning, allowing students to explore subjects across various disciplines. Innovative measures such as removing age restrictions and offering credit-based learning opportunities have also been implemented in the state. He further invited the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific to expand its activities in Madhya Pradesh.
Committed to providing global-level education in the country itself
Chancellor of Jagran Lake City University, Shri Harimohan Gupta said that the conference of the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific, spread over 35 countries, is being held in India for the first time. The association is committed to providing global-level education to the students in the country by establishing global institutions focused on higher education and skill development in Madhya Pradesh. On this occasion, Principal Secretary Higher Education Shri Anupam Rajan, educationist Shri Anoop Swarup, representatives of various universities and subject experts were present.
