AAP Gujarat leader Payal Sakariya met the Kalol rape victim’s family and demanded a fair probe, CCTV review and strict action against those involved.

Aam Aadmi Party Gujarat Mahila Morcha president Payal Sakariya met the family of a woman who died following an alleged rape incident in Kalol and assured them of the party’s support in their pursuit of justice.

Sakariya visited the victim’s family along with members of the party’s Gandhinagar team. She expressed condolences to the family and said the AAP would stand with them throughout the legal fight.

Payal Sakariya Questions Investigation Process

Speaking after the meeting, Sakariya raised questions over the investigation and claimed that the victim’s family was still seeking clarity about what happened.

She said the victim died in hospital on the 7th and questioned why, several days later, the family was still required to visit the police station regarding the case.

Sakariya also questioned the time taken to examine CCTV footage linked to the incident. She called for the investigation to be conducted without any external pressure.

AAP Demands Action Against All Those Involved

According to Sakariya, the victim’s family suspects that more than one person could have been involved in the incident. She therefore demanded that investigators examine all possible angles and ensure that no person involved is spared.

She also called for strict action based on the findings of the investigation, saying the case should be handled in a manner that strengthens confidence in women’s safety and the justice system.

Questions Raised Over Women’s Safety in Gujarat

The AAP leader also criticised what she described as a gap between claims of public safety and the concerns being raised by women and families.

Sakariya said incidents involving women and girls require a serious response from the authorities and stressed the need for an investigation that is transparent and free from pressure.

Family Seeks Clarity and Justice

Sakariya said the victim’s parents and grandmother were deeply distressed and that the family had been unable to get the answers they were seeking.

She urged the authorities to establish the facts of the case, examine available evidence and take action according to the law.

The AAP leader reiterated that her party would continue to support the family and press for a fair investigation into the circumstances surrounding the victim’s death.
