Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Samrat Samprati Museum at Koha Tirth in Gandhinagar during the India Heritage Festival on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti. The museum showcases a unique journey of knowledge, spirituality, and Indian cultural heritage through both traditional and digital exhibitions. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi were also present at the grand opening.
A Confluence of Study, Spirituality, and Discipline
PM Modi described the Samrat Samprati Museum inauguration as a representation of the three foundational pillars of Indian civilization – study, spiritual practice, and self-discipline. He emphasized how Koha Tirth has preserved these values for centuries, nurturing knowledge and strengthening cultural heritage. The museum combines traditional displays with modern digital and audio-visual installations to provide visitors, researchers, and scholars with an immersive experience.

During the Samrat Samprati Museum inauguration, the Prime Minister highlighted the legacy of Emperor Samprati, who adopted non-violence and truth during his reign, unlike many rulers who relied on power and weapons. Modi stated that the museum is designed to present India’s rich heritage and cultural identity to the world while promoting the core values of Jain philosophy.
Preserving Cultural and Historical Heritage
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel mentioned that the Samrat Samprati Museum inauguration features over 2,000 ancient artifacts, connecting the younger generation with India’s historical and cultural legacy. Deputy CM Harsh Sanghvi added that the museum would serve as a guiding center for heritage education and inspire pride in India’s ancient traditions.
PM Modi further stated that the museum not only serves as a center of Jain philosophy but also emphasizes the preservation of Indian culture and Sanatan Dharma on a global scale. He extended his heartfelt wishes to all Jain monks and saints for their efforts in making this initiative a success.
