PM Narendra Modi returns to Delhi after France and Slovakia visit, strengthening India-France ties and promoting cooperation in technology and innovation.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned to New Delhi on Friday after completing a two-nation official visit to France and Slovakia, marking an important diplomatic engagement aimed at strengthening India’s global partnerships.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stated that PM Modi’s visit to France added fresh momentum to the India–France Special Global Strategic Partnership, with a focus on cooperation in innovation, technology, defence, and economic development.
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, in a post on X, described the visit as highly productive and said it included wide-ranging engagements that reinforced the shared commitment between both nations. He wrote that the visit further strengthened bilateral cooperation across key sectors.
During his visit, PM Narendra Modi attended several high-level events across Nice, Evian, and Paris. These included participation in the Bharat Innovates programme in Nice, engagements related to the G7 summit in Evian, and addresses at major platforms in Paris such as VivaTech 2026, along with interactions with global CEOs and a community programme.

Reflecting on his visit, PM Narendra Modi described it as extensive in both scope and outcomes. He expressed gratitude to French President Emmanuel Macron, the French government, and the people of France for their hospitality, stating that the India-France friendship is expected to grow stronger in the coming years.
At VivaTech 2026 in Paris, one of Europe’s leading technology and startup events, the Prime Minister highlighted India’s rapid progress in digital transformation, innovation, and the startup ecosystem. He emphasized how technology is being used in India to improve the lives of citizens and drive inclusive growth.
The PM Narendra Modi also noted that his engagements in France focused on expanding cooperation in emerging technologies, strengthening economic ties, and promoting innovation-led development between the two countries.
Officials said the visit to France and Slovakia is expected to further deepen India’s diplomatic outreach and reinforce strategic partnerships across Europe.
