Punjab Government handed appointment letters to 52 Water Supply Department recruits. Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian said the hiring will strengthen public services and projects.
In a significant boost to public employment and infrastructure development, the Punjab Government has issued appointment letters to 52 newly recruited employees in the Water Supply and Sanitation Department. The appointment ceremony was held at Punjab Bhawan and was led by Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian.
Congratulating the newly appointed staff, the minister said the recruitment will help fill manpower gaps in the department while ensuring the timely execution of ongoing and upcoming water supply and sanitation projects across Punjab.
Appointments Made Under Compassionate Appointment Policy
The newly appointed employees have been recruited under the Punjab Government’s Compassionate Appointment Policy. The selected candidates include:
3 Junior Draftsmen
9 Clerks
31 Sewadars
1 Sweeper
7 Junior Technicians
1 Helper Technician
Minister Mundian urged all recruits to perform their duties with dedication, honesty, and professionalism while contributing to better public service delivery.

Punjab Government Jobs to Strengthen Public Services
Highlighting the importance of the recruitment drive, Hardeep Singh Mundian said the new appointments will improve the department’s operational efficiency and accelerate development projects related to safe drinking water and sanitation.
He reiterated that the Punjab Government remains committed to providing quality public services while creating meaningful employment opportunities for deserving youth.
Over 68,000 Punjab Government Jobs Created
The minister stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the government has adopted a transparent and merit-based recruitment process across all departments.
He added that the state has already provided more than 68,000 Punjab Government Jobs to eligible youth, reflecting the government’s commitment to employment generation and good governance.

Hardeep Singh Mundian also shared that the Water Supply and Sanitation Department has recruited 520 employees since 2022 across multiple categories, including:
44 Sub-Divisional Engineers
97 Junior Engineers
81 Junior Draftsmen
41 Clerks
27 Stenotypists
25 Junior Technicians
76 Helper Technicians
71 Sewadars
1 Chowkidar
5 Sweepers
These employees are currently serving in various districts across Punjab, strengthening the department’s workforce and improving service delivery.

Expressing confidence in the newly recruited employees, the minister said they will play a vital role in strengthening the department and ensuring efficient implementation of water supply and sanitation projects across the state.
