CM Pushkar Singh Dhami directs banks to improve Uttarakhand’s Credit-Deposit Ratio and releases ₹145.42 crore to beneficiaries through DBT.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed banks to strengthen the Credit-Deposit (CD) Ratio across the state, emphasizing that improved access to credit is essential for balanced economic growth and public welfare.
Chairing the State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) meeting at the Secretariat, the Chief Minister instructed banks and officials to take immediate steps to improve lending in districts where the CD Ratio remains low. He also stressed that citizens should receive the benefits of government welfare schemes without unnecessary delays.
Special Focus on Low Credit-Deposit Ratio Districts
During the meeting, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed concern over the low Credit-Deposit Ratio in districts including Bageshwar, Pauri Garhwal, Almora, Rudraprayag, Pithoragarh and Tehri Garhwal.
He directed officials to organise regular outreach camps in these districts to encourage financial inclusion, improve credit flow and increase access to banking services for individuals, farmers and businesses.
The Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said stronger coordination between banks and government departments would help ensure that development reaches every part of the state.
Welfare Schemes Should Meet Future Needs
Reviewing the functioning of the Social Welfare Department, CM Dhami instructed officials to prepare welfare programmes that address not only current requirements but also the challenges expected over the next 25 years.
He said government schemes should be designed as sustainable models that continue to benefit citizens over the long term and serve as examples for other states.

Hostel Projects for Scheduled Caste Students to Be Completed by October
The Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed officials to complete the construction of Babu Jagjivan Ram Boys’ Hostels at Doiwala in Dehradun and Paines in Nainital, along with the Babu Jagjivan Ram Girls’ Hostel at Someshwar in Almora, by October.
He said the timely completion of these projects would improve residential and educational facilities for Scheduled Caste students and strengthen educational opportunities in the state.
Automatic Old Age Pension Enrollment
CM Dhami also instructed officials to simplify the implementation of social welfare schemes by integrating various programmes and improving financial management.
He directed that eligible citizens should be automatically enrolled under the Old Age Pension Scheme once they attain the age of 60, eliminating unnecessary paperwork and ensuring timely financial assistance.
₹145.42 Crore Released Through DBT
During the programme held at the Chief Minister’s residence auditorium, Pushkar Singh Dhami released the June 2026 pension instalments under various Social Welfare Department schemes through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) One-Click system.
A total of 9,80,950 beneficiaries received approximately ₹145.42 crore directly into their bank accounts. Of the total amount, around ₹7.02 crore was contributed by the Central Government, while the Uttarakhand Government provided approximately ₹138.40 crore.
The Chief Minister said the state government remains committed to transparent governance, efficient welfare delivery and inclusive development through technology-driven public services.
