The closing ceremony of the two-day Rajasthan IT Day, organised by the Department of Information Technology and Communications, concluded at the Rajasthan International Centre (RIC) on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest, Minister for IT and Communications, Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore said that today the entire world is looking towards India for accessible technology. India’s high-quality but affordable technology is making it the hub of the global market.
Promotion of public welfare and good governance through technology
Col Rathore said that Information Technology has now become an integral part of life, revolutionizing various fields such as medicine, space science, education and services. In Rajasthan also, IT is being used to deliver public welfare schemes to the citizens in more transparency and less time.
In-depth discussion in ‘Fireside Chat Rajasthan’
During the closing ceremony, in the session ‘Fireside Chat Rajasthan, “Col Rathore interacted with Shraddha Sharma, Founder, YourStory. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, Rajasthan is creating a new identity in the field of technology and the data centre here is becoming the best in the country.
Role of IT in Transparency and Public Service
Reiterating the state government’s commitment to transparency and public welfare, Col Rathore said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, the past year has proved to be crucial for the development of Rajasthan. Earlier, the beneficiaries had to go to the government for the schemes, but now the government itself will reach them through IT.
Smt.Archana Singh, Secretary, Department of Information Technology and Communications informed that more than 3000 participants attended the two-day event. The event witnessed discussions on AVGC-XR sector, Game Jam competition was held and more than 75 startups presented their innovations at the IT Expo.
Digital India and Rajasthan
Shri Inderpal Singh Sethi, Director General, National Informatics Centre (NIC) said that the Digital India campaign launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2015 has played an important role in taking government schemes to the last mile.
XOD team wins’ Game Jam ‘competition
During the Rajasthan IT Day, a 48-hour long ‘Game Jam’ competition was organized under the supervision of the Developer Association of India, in which the challenge of solving problems through gaming was given. The IT Minister presented trophies and certificates to the winning team XOD, 1st Runner-up Coders in Disguise and 2nd Runner-up Ansh Jam Global.
Funding of Rs 12 crore to 9 start-ups
During December 2024, an agreement was signed between Nanda Capital and iStart Rajasthan, under which 9 startups were given funding of Rs 12 crore. At the closing ceremony, Col Rathore distributed funding cheques to these startups.
Atal e-Governance State Awards presented
Atal e-Governance State Awards 2022-23 and 2023-24 were conferred on State Government officials for their outstanding contribution to e-Governance. On the occasion, awards were presented to several Rajasthan IT Day and Administrative Officers including Shri Gopal Krishna Sharma, Shri Gaurav Sharma, Shri Dinesh Gurjar, Shri Manoj Kumar Jain, Shri Kumbharam Relawat, Shrilekha Sharma, Shri Sharul Saxena, Shri Abhay Gupta and many others.
Rajasthan IT Day 2025 gives a new platform to innovation
Sanjay Jagdish Karnik, Joint Secretary, Department of Information Technology delivered the vote of thanks. The closing ceremony was attended by government officials, startup CEOs, investors, corporate representatives, members of academic institutions and a large number of students.
Rajasthan IT Day 2025 provided an important platform to promote innovation, entrepreneurship and digital transformation, which will help the state emerge as an IT hub.
