RAJASTHAN NEWS : PHED Minister Kanhaiyalal Chaudhary held a meeting at Jhunjhunu Collectorate on Friday to review the progress of various departmental schemes in the district. He took a detailed review of the progress of Jal Jeevan Mission and AMRUT-2 scheme and directed to bring more progress in departmental works.
Shri Chaudhary directed the officials to get all the works related to drinking water sanctioned / done as per the budget announcement within the next 15 days. He said that there is a shortage of water in the district but since Pilani, Buhana, Surajgarh, Udaipurwati have more problems, a permanent action plan will be prepared. The drinking water crisis has deepened due to the excessive depletion of groundwater, plans will be made to develop other sources to solve it. Under the Kumbharam Lift Project, the work of connecting 1200 villages of three districts will be done soon, the tender process of which is about to be completed.
The Water Resources Minister directed the departmental officers to undertake effective monitoring under Jal Jeevan Mission and AMRUT-II scheme and take concrete steps to provide water to every household and prepare a list of villages where water supply has not yet been provided in the Legislative Assembly. He said that the Jal Jeevan Mission launched under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi aims to provide clean tap water to every household for the next 30 years. He said that on the directions of Chief Minister Mr. Bhajan Lal Sharma, adequate funds have been allocated for the summer contingency plan as per the demand of the districts.
The Water Resources Minister took a detailed review of the progress of the Budget announcements of the State Government. In the meeting, the people’s representatives of the district placed the problems related to water in their areas before the minister.
In the meeting, MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy, former MLAs Satish Kumar, Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy, Ganesh Gupta, MLC Farooq, Municipal Chairperson Raja Narsu, SUDA Chairman Ravinder Reddy, Councillor Venugopal Reddy and others participated.
