RAJASTHAN NEWS : Sergeant Surendra Kumar, who attained martyrdom in Udhampur under Operation Sindoor, was cremated with full state honours at his village Mehradasi (Mandawa) Jhunjhunu in Jhunjhunu district on Sunday. Jhunjhunu district in-charge minister Avinash Gehlot paid tributes to the martyr on behalf of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.
Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, MLAs Kultar Singh Sandhwan, Saravjit Kaur Manuke, Prof Baljinder Kaur, Meet Hayer, Kulwant Singh Pandori, Principal Budh Ram, Manjit Singh Bilaspur, Amarjit Singh Sandoa, Jai Singh Rodi and party leaders Neel Garg, Gurjant Singh Sivia, Charanjit Singh Akanwali, Jagroop Singh Gill, Dr Vijay Singla, Master Jagsir Singh, Balkar Singh Sidhu, Sukhbir Singh Maisarkhana, Anil Thakur, Navdeep Singh Jida, Amrit Garg, among others.
The Guard of Honour was presented by contingents of Air Force and Police led by Group Captain Vinay Bhardwaj. The martyr’s son Daksha lit the funeral pyre. After the cremation, Jhunjhunu district in-charge minister Avinash Gehlot handed over a cheque of Rs 5 lakh from the state government to Veerangana Seema and assured all possible help from the state government.
