Rajasthan News : Notification dated 16th June, 2025 of the Registrar General and Census Commissioner, Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi, whereby the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Census Act, 1948 (37 of 1948), has notified on 16th June, 2025, the intention to conduct Census of India during the year 2027.
In this context, the Government of Rajasthan has notified the said notification issued by the Central Government in the Rajasthan Gazette dated 24th June, 2025 for information and wide publicity to all the residents of the State.
The reference date for Census of India 2027 will be 00:00 hrs of the 1st day of March, 2027 for the whole of India (except frosty asynchronous areas). The reference date for Union Territory of Ladakh and Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and the Snowbound Asymmetric Areas of the States of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand will be 00:00 hours of the first day of October, 2026.
With the issuance of this notification, the census work has officially started in the state.
