RAJASTHAN NEWS : The special enthusiasm of the people of Jaipur is being seen towards the National Cooperative Masala Fair being organised at Jawahar Kala Kendra. Along with spices, many other products are being purchased in the fair. In the last four days alone, more than Rs. 1.28 crore has been sold in the Masala Mela.
Manju Rajpal, Principal Secretary, Cooperation Department and Registrar, Cooperative Societies, said that the fair is gaining momentum day by day. A large number of Jaipurites are shopping for whole and ground spices as well as other products in the fair as per their requirement. Spices and other products worth Rs 11 lakh were sold on May 9, Rs 42 lakh on May 10, Rs 44 lakh on May 11 and Rs 31 lakh on May 12. Apart from Sihori wheat, Tansen and Madhubala rice of Kota-Bundi, spices of Kerala, turmeric of Erode (Tamil Nadu), coriander of Baran etc. are in great demand in the fair. Free grinding of spices through mobile chakki has been arranged for the customers. Complimentary parking is also available for guests.
Smt. Rajpal informed that the number of stalls in the fair has been increased to 145. This time Shri Anna products are also being displayed in about 25 stalls including the stalls of CONFED, which are a special attraction for the customers. Also, fresh fruits and vegetables are available in the fair. Apart from this, dry fruits, cookies, chips, namkeen, papad, mangodi, pickle, jam, sherbet, thandai, mouth freshener, candy, Mumbai fennel, Banarasi paan, perfume, organic agarbatti, mehendi, dry vegetables, ready-to-eat products, kitchenware, handicrafts, decorative items, beauty products, health products and apparel are the special attractions.
The Chief Secretary said that a mesmerising cultural evening is also being organised in the fair every day. Cultural performances by Jaipur Division enthralled the people on Monday. The programme was graced by music and dance performances by Sudesh Sharma and party. Also, Rajasthani folk dances enthralled the audience.
