Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma today said that Rajasthan is working towards achieving self-reliance in the energy sector. Shri Sharma said that the MoUs from the energy sector signed during the ‘Rising Rajasthan’ Global Investment Summit 2024 have a critical role in making Rajasthan Atmanirbhar in the energy sector. Emphasizing on the energy needs of the state, the Chief Minister directed the officials to chart a special roadmap for the expeditious implementation of the solar and battery storage projects.
Shri Sharma was reviewing the implementation of MoUs signed during the ‘Rising Rajasthan’ Global Investment Summit 2024 at the Chief Minister’s residence today. Shri Sharma noted that the timely implementation of MoUs is giving impetus to Rajasthan’s economic development. He also directed the officials to work on mission mode towards expeditious implementation of the investment proposals.
Hon’ble CM: Communicate with investors, keep them informed about MoU progress
Shri Sharma said that the investment projects have an important role to play in realizing the goal of ‘Viksit Rajasthan’. The Chief Minister said that government is leaving no stone unturned in providing the assistance and handholding to the investors. He also directed the officials to communicate with the investors on a regular basis and apprise them of the progress on their MoUs. Shri Sharma said that the Energy sector MoUs should also be reviewed at the Chief Secretary level on a regular basis.
CM directs officials to work towards establishing integrated power corridor
Highlighting the importance of pump storage and battery storage projects in the renewable energy sector, Shri Sharma said that Rajasthan is working towards securing the battery energy storage capacity of about 6000 megawatt hours. The Chief Minister directed the officials to prepare a detailed action plan for the solar and battery storage projects. He further said that efforts should be made towards establishing an integrated power corridor and adopting other innovations in the energy sector.
During the meeting, Shri Sharma took an in-depth review of the progress on the MoUs related to Solar energy, Compressed Biogas (CBG) and Biofuel. He also directed the officials to classify the remaining MoUs in categories and work towards their timely implementation.
Chief Minister’s direct supervision and commitment fuelling MoUs’ expeditious implementation
It is noteworthy that the government under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma has devised a three-tier review mechanism for the effective review of progress made on the MoUs signed during the ‘Rising Rajasthan’ Global Investment Summit 2024. Hon’ble Chief Minister, himself, reviews the implementation of MoUs worth more than INR 1000 crore on a monthly basis. Shri Sharma’s direct supervision and commitment towards MoUs’ timely implementation has ensured that out of the total MoUs worth INR 35 lakh crore signed during the summit, MoUs worth over INR 4 lakh crore have already commenced groundbreaking.
Chief Secretary Shri Sudhansh Pant and senior officials of various departments were present during the meeting. A number of District Collectors also participated in the meeting through Virtual Conference (VC).
