AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj targets PM Narendra Modi over political credibility, foreign policy, unemployment, the economy and freedom of expression.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Delhi president Saurabh Bharadwaj has launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, questioning his political legacy, the government’s policies and the country’s current economic situation. Saurabh Bharadwaj claimed that Modi’s credibility among the public has weakened and alleged that people are increasingly eager to see him removed from power. He also took a sarcastic swipe at what he described as the Prime Minister’s ambitions to build a legacy greater than those of India’s prominent historical figures.
Saurabh Bharadwaj Questions Modi’s Political Legacy
While criticising the Prime Minister, Saurabh Bharadwaj said Modi may have aspired to establish a legacy comparable to or greater than that of Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and Shaheed Bhagat Singh. He sarcastically suggested that the Prime Minister might even have imagined a future in which his photograph replaced Gandhi’s on Indian currency notes.
According to the AAP leader, those ambitions have not translated into the lasting legacy the Prime Minister may have expected. Saurabh Bharadwaj alleged that Modi’s public image has suffered and that his political influence is no longer as strong as it once appeared.
AAP Leader Criticises India’s Foreign Policy
Bharadwaj also questioned the central government’s handling of foreign affairs. Referring to India’s international standing, relations with Pakistan and differences with China, he alleged that the Prime Minister had failed to deliver the expected results on several important fronts.
The AAP leader argued that the government’s claims about India’s growing global influence should be assessed against its performance on key diplomatic and strategic issues. These remarks formed part of his broader criticism of the Modi government’s policies and leadership.

Unemployment and Economic Challenges Come Under Fire
Raising concerns about the economy, Saurabh Bharadwaj alleged that unemployment and financial difficulties were creating serious problems for young people and ordinary citizens.
He said many young people struggle to find jobs even after completing their education. He also claimed that businesses and people trying to earn a livelihood are facing difficulties, adding that employment opportunities and economic security remain major concerns.
Bharadwaj argued that the government should pay greater attention to these challenges instead of focusing primarily on its political image. His comments highlighted the issues of employment, education and economic conditions as central points of his criticism.
Bharadwaj Alleges Restrictions on Freedom of Expression
The AAP Delhi president also accused the government of encouraging an atmosphere in which people hesitate to speak openly about their problems.
He alleged that individuals who criticise the government or raise public concerns can face online abuse, intimidation and political pressure. According to Bharadwaj, citizens should be able to question those in power without fearing harassment.
He further claimed that criticism can sometimes lead to pressure involving political representatives and law enforcement authorities. These allegations were part of his wider argument that democratic accountability and freedom of expression need greater protection.
‘Modi’s Political Charm Is Beginning to Fade’
In his concluding remarks, Bharadwaj said the political situation was changing and claimed that the Prime Minister’s once-powerful public image was losing its appeal.
He argued that the opportunities given to Modi by voters over three terms should have been used to promote harmony and unity across the country. Instead, the AAP leader accused the Prime Minister of allowing divisions and hatred to grow, warning that the political consequences could eventually affect his leadership.
Saurabh Bharadwaj further asserted that the time had come for political change and claimed that many people were waiting for the Prime Minister to leave office.
AAP Intensifies Its Political Attack on PM Modi
Bharadwaj’s remarks represent a strong political attack by the AAP leadership against the Prime Minister and the BJP-led central government. His criticism covered several issues, including political legacy, foreign policy, unemployment, economic challenges and freedom of expression.
However, his statements about Modi’s declining credibility and public sentiment reflect the AAP leader’s political assessment. The remarks themselves do not establish a nationwide decline in the Prime Minister’s popularity, and no independent survey data was presented alongside these claims.
The comments add to the political debate over the central government’s performance and the challenges facing India’s opposition parties.
