Speaker Vasudev Devnani said, “We have promised the people of Ajmer North that we will completely solve the problem of waterlogging and drainage. Plans are being made in this regard. In the first phase, the roads will be repaired. It will be constructed at a cost of Rs 40 crore. Similarly, the problem of waterlogging in various areas will also be solved.
Speaker Vasudev Devnani on Friday launched the construction of a drain from Savitri College to Vijaylaxmi Park in Ward 67 of Ajmer district at a cost of Rs 1.4 crore under the Chief Minister’s Budget Announcement 2024-25. Shri Devnani said that a detailed report has been prepared by the committee to improve the drainage system of the city. Under this, an advanced drainage system will be constructed.
He said that there are sufficient number of drains in Ajmer. These pre-fabricated kutcha nalas accumulate debris as they get eroded over time. This has led to the contamination in the area. An amount of Rs 36 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of these drains. This drain of Nagina Bagh area will be built through it. Road development works are also being carried out in the area. The residents of the area should monitor the construction works by playing the role of responsible citizens. If there is a shortage, the local councillor should be informed. He directed the officials of the Municipal Corporation to ensure maintenance and regular cleaning of drains. With the construction of the drain, the residents of the area will get rid of the problem of waterlogging on the roads.
He said that instructions have been given to the higher officials of the Public Health Engineering Department for uninterrupted supply of drinking water during summer. Water is being supplied to the area in 48 hours. Efforts are being made to improve it. To provide a permanent solution to the drinking water problem, three service reservoirs will be constructed at Kotda, Lohagal and Varun Sagar to increase the capacity of the drinking water line of the Bisalpur project at a cost of Rs 270 crore. With this, drinking water problem of the town will not arise. He said that pump houses get closed during power cuts in adverse weather. For this, automatic feeders will be installed at a cost of Rs 4.5 crore.
He said that medical facilities are being expanded. A super-speciality block will be constructed at the Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital. An amount of Rs 65 crore has been sanctioned for the first phase. An amount of Rs 21 crore has been sanctioned for the satellite hospital. The Speaker Help Desk at Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital is being operated round the clock. More than 3000 patients have been cured so far.
He said that Smart City Ajmer is being developed in a phased manner. An amount of Rs. 2 crore has been earmarked for the project in the budget. This will boost development of the city. A number of development works including IT Park, Science Park, Convention Centre, entrance entry plaza, ghat construction and beautification at Varun Sagar will be undertaken. At the same time, many places will be available to the city dwellers as tourist destinations for the development of tourism. Leopard Safari will be developed soon. Everyone became a participant in the development of clean, beautiful and best Ajmer.
