This Indian Techie Was Secretly Working at 4 Startups — Until Suhail Doshi Exposed Him
Suhail Doshi, co-founder of analytics platform Mixpanel and founder of Playground AI, has publicly accused Indian techie Soham Parekh of simultaneously working at multiple startups, calling it a deliberate attempt to “scam” companies — particularly Y Combinator-backed startups.

In a viral post on social platform X, Doshi issued a stern public warning:
“PSA: there’s a guy named Soham Parekh (in India) who works at 3–4 startups at the same time. He’s been preying on YC companies and more. Beware.”
Suhail Doshi said he fired Parekh during his first week at Playground AI after discovering the alleged deception. “I fired this guy in his first week and told him to stop lying / scamming people. He hasn’t stopped a year later. No more excuses,” he wrote.
A Web of Roles Across Top AI Startups
Suhail Doshi also shared Parekh’s resume, which claimed roles at high-profile AI companies such as Dynamo AI, Synthesia, Alan AI, and Union AI. According to the CV, Parekh studied at the University of Mumbai and later completed his master’s at the Georgia Institute of Technology. However, Doshi alleged that “probably 90%” of the résumé is fake and added that “most links are gone.”
Despite confronting him and offering a chance for reform, Suhail Doshi said the efforts didn’t yield any change:
“I tried to talk sense into this guy, explain the impact, and give him a chance to turn a new leaf… But it clearly didn’t work.”
The Broader Debate on Moonlighting in Tech
This incident reignites the ongoing global debate over moonlighting — especially in the tech industry where remote work and flexible contracts have blurred the boundaries of employment. While some argue that side gigs empower workers and encourage autonomy, others believe it dilutes accountability and undermines company trust.
