The UP government will establish a farmer-producer cell to support agriculture.
The cell will serve as an intermediary between active Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) in the state and online marketing platforms, expediting their online registration process.
The Yogi Adityanath-led administration has chosen to establish a farmer producer cell as part of its continued efforts to turn Uttar Pradesh into India’s food basket and guarantee that the state’s farmers benefit from all government initiatives, a government statement said on Tuesday.
The cell will serve as an intermediary to speed up the state’s active Farmer Producer Organizations’ (FPOs’) online registration, link them to internet marketing platforms, and help them apply for equity and license awards. A three-month effort will be initiated by the government to hasten this procedure.
The statement also stated that the state government has instructed the agriculture department to fortify currently operating Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) and hasten their linkage with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) and the electronic National Agriculture Market (e-NAM) via the proposed Farmer Producer Cell.
According to the statement, 3,240 FPOs in the state are registered on the Shakti Portal and run under the Atma Nirbhar Krishak Samanvit Vikas Yojana.
To support CM Yogi’s goals, a thorough action plan has been created to fortify FPOs throughout the state. Promotion, the development of an open agricultural market, input licensing procedures (fertilizers, seeds, pesticides), mandi licenses, GST licenses, FSSAI licenses, and onboarding onto the ONDC platform for market linkage are all part of the infrastructure put in place for this. The statement went on to say that this procedure will be finished by integrating it with the e-NAM and ONDC portals.
It will also help to finish a number of crucial procedures, including equity grants, input licenses, seed licenses, dealership licenses, and fertilizer licenses.
The farmer producer cell will arrange meetings with the government at different levels in order to support FPOs, and it will also prepare a comprehensive status report that will outline the campaign in detail.
This report will be closely watched at several levels to guarantee openness and understanding of the real state of the project. The campaign’s related activities will be overseen by the district level monitoring committee (DMC) and state level consultative committee (SLCC).
