Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami distributes 182 UKPSC appointment letters, highlighting transparent recruitment, youth empowerment and good governance.
In a major step towards strengthening administrative services and promoting youth empowerment, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday handed over appointment letters to 182 candidates selected through the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC) PCS Main Examination-2024. Additionally, five candidates selected for the post of Personal Assistant in the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare also received their appointment letters.
The distribution ceremony was held at the Mukhya Sevak Sadan in the Chief Minister’s Camp Office, where the newly selected officers were congratulated and encouraged to serve the state with dedication, integrity, and sensitivity towards public welfare.
Massive Competition Reflects Merit-Based Selection
According to official data shared at the event, nearly 1.5 lakh candidates had applied for the UKPSC PCS Main Examination-2024, while more than 71,000 appeared for the exam. Out of this highly competitive pool, only 182 candidates were successfully selected, reflecting the rigorous and merit-driven selection process.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that the achievement of the selected candidates reflects their hard work, discipline, and determination, and marks the beginning of a responsible journey in public service.
Focus on Transparent and Fair Recruitment
The Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reiterated that the state government has strengthened transparency in recruitment by implementing one of the strictest anti-copying laws in the country. He said this has significantly increased the confidence of young aspirants in the examination system.
He also highlighted that over the past four and a half years, more than 34,000 youths have been given government jobs through a fair and merit-based recruitment process, ensuring accountability and trust in governance.
Public Service Above Authority
Addressing the newly appointed officers, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami emphasized that government service is not about authority but about responsibility and service to citizens. He urged them to ensure that welfare schemes and government services reach the last mile with efficiency, transparency, and compassion.
He added that citizens, especially from remote areas, should experience respect, timely grievance redressal, and trust while interacting with government offices.
Vision for Developed Uttarakhand
Referring to the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, CM Dhami said that Uttarakhand has been envisioned as a key growth state in the coming decade, and the newly appointed officers will play a crucial role in achieving this goal.
He called upon them to implement government policies effectively on the ground and contribute to building a “Developed Uttarakhand” through honest and dedicated service.
The Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami assured full government support to officers performing their duties with integrity and urged them to uphold constitutional values, rule of law, and public interest as their highest priority.
The event marks another milestone in Uttarakhand’s ongoing efforts to promote transparent governance, merit-based recruitment, and youth empowerment across the state.
