AI Mode Promo | Google’s AI Search Feature Is So Smart, You’ll Never Search the Same Way Again!
Google’s AI Mode: Google surprised users on Tuesday by swapping its usual homepage Doodle — which typically celebrates historical events or famous personalities — with an animated promo for its newest AI-powered search tool called “AI Mode.”

Instead of marking a special occasion, this animated Doodle served as a shortcut to it, a chatbot-style feature designed to help users tackle complex questions with detailed answers. What’s more, this Doodle included a share button, encouraging people to spread the word — something rarely seen on Google’s homepage.
A Google spokesperson explained that this wasn’t a traditional Doodle but rather “a fun promo” aimed at introducing more people to AI Mode.
While it isn’t brand new (Google quietly rolled it out back in March alongside regular search results), this is one of the company’s most visible pushes yet to get users familiar with its AI capabilities. The timing makes sense, given the rising competition from other AI platforms like OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Anthropic’s Claude.
Powered by Google’s Gemini AI model, AI Mode is built to answer deeper, multi-part questions that would typically take several searches to figure out. Users can type their questions, speak them aloud, or even upload images to get AI-generated, detailed responses — making searching smarter and more conversational.
