90 Hours a Week and No Apologies

In a recent interview, Guo shared insights into the work ethic that fueled her rise. “I work 90 hours a week,” she stated, emphasizing the relentless demands placed on early-stage founders. Lucy Guo compared her routine to the notorious 996 work culture — shorthand for working 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., six days a week — a schedule often seen in parts of the Asian tech industry.

“It’s near impossible to avoid this intensity when you’re building something from scratch,” she added, pushing back against the idea that major success comes without extreme effort.
