Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini directs time-bound implementation of PM-KUSUM & rooftop solar schemes; farmers, EV infrastructure & organic farming get focus.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini chaired a high-level review meeting today to evaluate budget expenditure and assess the progress of key departmental schemes. Senior administrative officials from various departments were present during the session.
During the meeting, the CM Nayab Singh Saini focused on the Energy (Power) Department’s initiatives, directing officials to fast-track the solarisation of agricultural pumps under the PM-KUSUM scheme. He emphasized that the scheme should be implemented within strict timelines to ensure maximum benefits for farmers. Saini highlighted that surplus electricity generated through solar pumps must be fed back into the state grid for optimum utilization. Additionally, he instructed officials to expedite the installation of rooftop solar systems across all government buildings, bus stands, HAFED godowns, and other state-owned infrastructure. The CM underscored Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s emphasis on expanding renewable energy under the PM Suryaghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
Officials informed the CM Nayab Singh Saini that surveys of 5,000 government buildings have been completed, with the installation of rooftop solar panels already underway. Saini directed Deputy Commissioners of all districts to actively monitor and accelerate the scheme’s implementation.
The Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini also reviewed the Transport Department’s ongoing projects, urging authorities to identify and repair bus stands in poor condition. He noted that bus stands at Kanina, Barwala, Tohana, and Nigdhu are nearing completion, while work continues at Badli, Nilokheri, Bahal, and other locations. Saini further stressed the expansion of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure and the deployment of more electric buses to promote eco-friendly public transportation and reduce carbon emissions.

While discussing policies for the Industries Department, the CM instructed officials to offer greater incentives for MSMEs and small industries and to create frameworks that encourage entrepreneurship, particularly among women and economically weaker sections, fostering inclusive economic growth.
On the environmental front, Saini directed strict action against illegal felling of Khair trees, called for enhanced measures to prevent deforestation, increase green cover, and ensure proper marking of trees. Special attention was recommended for conservation initiatives in the Aravalli region.
The CM Nayab Singh Saini also urged the Foreign Cooperation Department to strengthen engagement with the NRI community and provide support for students seeking to study or work abroad. Programs to teach foreign languages were highlighted as part of the department’s upcoming initiatives.
Addressing the Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department, Saini reiterated that farmers are the backbone of Haryana’s economy. He directed the opening of more ‘Har Hith Stores’, managed by CM PACS and Self-Help Groups (SHGs), to empower women and weaker sections through sustainable livelihoods. He called for policies to incentivize pulse cultivation to achieve state-level self-reliance (Aatmanirbharta) in pulses and encouraged the adoption of organic farming practices through a dedicated support scheme.
The CM also reviewed the budget expenditure and progress of various other key departments, including Sainik & Ardh Sainik Welfare, Fisheries, Sports, among others, emphasizing efficient governance and timely execution of schemes.
