Tirth Yatra Yojana bus flagged off in Patiala. Dr Balbir Singh says Mann Government is committed to public service and free pilgrimage.
A new bus under the Tirth Yatra Yojana was officially flagged off today from Ward Number 28, S.S.T. Nagar in Rural Patiala, marking another step in the Punjab government’s initiative to promote accessible spiritual travel for citizens.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from local residents and devotees who welcomed the initiative with great appreciation. The scheme aims to provide free pilgrimage opportunities to people who are unable to undertake religious journeys due to financial constraints.
Punjab Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh highlighted that the government is dedicated to ensuring that every citizen gets equal access to spiritual and cultural heritage sites across the country. He said that such welfare-oriented programs reflect the state’s commitment to public service and social inclusion.

He further stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the state government is continuously working to strengthen people-centric policies. The free pilgrimage scheme is one such initiative that brings relief and joy to thousands of devotees.
Locals present at the flag-off ceremony expressed gratitude, stating that the scheme will help elderly citizens and economically weaker sections fulfill their long-cherished dream of visiting holy places.
Officials present at the event assured smooth implementation of the scheme and emphasized that more such buses will be introduced in the coming days to expand the reach of the program.
