Arvind Kejriwal alleges financial irregularities in Ram Temple Trust, questions administration, while petition seeks SIT and CBI probe in Supreme Court.
A political controversy erupted after Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal launched a sharp attack on the General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Champat Rai, over allegations of financial irregularities linked to donations and temple funds.
Kejriwal, in a strongly worded statement, alleged large-scale misuse of public donations and questioned why no strict action has been taken despite serious accusations. The issue has now intensified public and political debate across the country.
Arvind Kejriwal Raises Serious Allegations
In his remarks, Arvind Kejriwal claimed that donations worth several billions may have been misappropriated. He further alleged that cash and jewellery linked to temple offerings were reportedly involved in irregularities.
The AAP leader questioned the administrative handling of the matter and asked why those responsible for managing the funds continue to hold key positions despite ongoing allegations.
Kejriwal also raised concerns over institutional inaction, stating that repeated questions from devotees remain unanswered. According to him, the lack of decisive action has led to growing public anger and suspicion.
क्या इस बात का डर… pic.twitter.com/8Z9C4Q3jS5

“Delay May Lead to Evidence Tampering”: Kejriwal’s Warning
Escalating his attack, Arvind Kejriwal questioned whether sufficient time was being given to those accused to allegedly influence records and witnesses. He suggested that delays in action could compromise the integrity of any investigation.
He also alleged the possibility of a larger cover-up, questioning whether powerful individuals were being protected and why accountability had not been established so far.
The remarks have further intensified the political debate surrounding the management of the temple trust.
Legal Action and Supreme Court Petition
Meanwhile, a fresh petition has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking a court-monitored investigation into the financial affairs of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.

The plea demands the registration of an FIR and the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) under the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to probe alleged irregularities, missing funds, and financial mismanagement.
It also seeks preservation of all records, including donation registers, bank statements, CCTV footage, and audit documents to ensure transparency during the investigation process.
Demand for Independent Investigation
The petition further questions the scope of the existing state-level SIT and calls for a more independent and transparent inquiry mechanism. It argues that early-stage evidence protection is crucial to maintaining the integrity of the investigation.
According to the plea, any delay in safeguarding records may risk tampering and could impact the outcome of the probe.
Political Debate Intensifies
As the controversy grows, Arvind Kejriwal’s statements have added a new political dimension to the ongoing debate. The matter has triggered discussions on transparency, accountability, and the management of religious trust funds.
The situation continues to develop as both legal proceedings and political reactions unfold.
