AAP alleges political conspiracy in Chaitar Vasava case, calls verdict biased and vows legal fight and mass protest in Gujarat.
Senior Aam Aadmi Party leaders, including state organization general secretary Manoj Sorathiya and state organization minister Niranjan Vasava, held a press conference addressing the sentencing of party MLA Chaitar Vasava and nine others in Gujarat.
The leaders strongly alleged that the case against Vasava is politically motivated and designed to suppress tribal voices in the state. They claimed that the judgment reflects bias and raises serious questions about the fairness of the judicial process.
Allegations of Procedural Irregularities
Manoj Sorathiya stated that the trial process involved several irregularities, including the use of video conferencing for witness testimonies instead of physical presence in court. He also alleged that the case was expedited unusually fast compared to standard legal timelines.
He further claimed that multiple accused were given identical sentences without considering individual roles, which, according to him, suggests inconsistencies in the judgment.

“Attack on Tribal Leadership,” Says AAP
The AAP leader alleged that Chaitar Vasava has been consistently targeted for raising issues related to tribal rights, governance, and alleged misuse of power. He said Vasava has been a strong voice for tribal communities in Gujarat.
Sorathiya further claimed that the conviction is part of a broader attempt to weaken opposition voices and discourage political activism among tribal youth.
AAP Announces Legal and Street-Level Protest
The party announced that it will challenge the case through all possible legal channels, including higher courts, while also preparing for mass public mobilization.
According to the leadership, the movement will not be limited to courts but will also extend to legislative forums and street-level protests across Gujarat.
Call for Tribal Unity and Political Resistance
AAP leaders urged tribal communities across Gujarat to unite and continue their struggle for rights and representation. They claimed that attempts to silence one leader will only result in the emergence of many more voices.
They reiterated that the fight is not limited to an individual but represents a broader struggle for justice, equality, and democratic rights in the state.
