AAP leader Sanjeev Jha questions Amit Shah over faith in Lord Ram, asking why he has not visited Ayodhya and whether Ram is only an election issue.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and MLA Sanjeev Jha has launched a sharp attack on Union Home Minister Amit Shah, questioning the Bharatiya Janata Party’s commitment to Lord Ram beyond electoral politics. His remarks come amid an intensifying political debate over religion, faith, and the role of political parties in religious matters.
Addressing the issue, Sanjeev Jha asked whether Lord Shri Ram is genuinely a matter of faith for BJP leaders or merely a political symbol used during election campaigns. He alleged that the ruling party frequently invokes Lord Ram while seeking votes but fails to demonstrate the same level of devotion outside the electoral arena.
Questions Raised Over Ayodhya Visit
The AAP leader specifically questioned why Amit Shah has not yet visited Ayodhya for the darshan of Ram Lalla. According to Jha, if Lord Ram holds such significance in BJP’s political discourse, senior leaders should also reflect that faith through their actions.
He asked whether visiting Ayodhya and paying respects at the Ram Temple was considered unimportant by BJP leaders. Jha argued that faith should be reflected through genuine devotion rather than limited to campaign speeches and political rallies.

Faith vs Political Narrative
Sanjeev Jha further claimed that religious beliefs should not be reduced to political slogans. He urged BJP leaders to clarify whether their repeated references to Lord Ram stem from spiritual conviction or political strategy.

The AAP leader said that millions of devotees across the country view Lord Ram as a symbol of faith, morality, and cultural heritage. Therefore, he argued, political leaders should treat religious sentiments with sincerity and respect rather than using them as electoral tools.
Political Debate Intensifies
Jha’s comments have added a new dimension to the ongoing political discourse surrounding Ayodhya and the Ram Temple. Religious issues continue to play a significant role in India’s political landscape, with both ruling and opposition parties frequently exchanging allegations over matters of faith and public perception.
While the BJP has consistently highlighted its role in the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, opposition leaders have often accused the party of politicizing religious issues for electoral gain.
AAP Seeks Public Clarification
Through his remarks, Sanjeev Jha called on Amit Shah to publicly address these questions and clarify his position. According to the AAP leader, faith should be demonstrated through actions and personal commitment rather than remaining confined to political messaging.
As political exchanges over religious issues continue ahead of upcoming electoral contests, statements from leaders across party lines are expected to keep the debate at the center of public attention.
