Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday conducted a detailed inspection of the pre-monsoon state-level mock drill in Dehradun and reviewed the state’s disaster management preparedness.
During the review, the Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed all districts to submit a comprehensive report on their preparedness measures within the next 72 hours. He emphasized the need for timely coordination and accountability at every administrative level to ensure swift response during emergencies.
Community Participation and Inter-Agency Coordination Emphasized
CM Dhami instructed officials to ensure active participation of local citizens, voluntary organizations, and village-level committees in disaster management efforts. He also stressed better coordination among the Water Police, SDRF, NDRF, and district administration to enhance operational efficiency during disaster situations.
He said that disaster response systems must be strengthened through joint efforts and real-time coordination among all agencies involved.

Use of Advanced Technology in Disaster Management
The Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami highlighted that Uttarakhand is strengthening its disaster management framework using modern technologies. These include AI-based early warning systems, drone surveillance, GIS mapping, and digital monitoring tools to improve preparedness and response time.
He stated that technology-driven systems are playing a crucial role in minimizing risk and ensuring better planning for disaster situations in the hilly state.
Book on Disaster Management Plans Released
On the occasion, a book related to state and district-level disaster management plans was also released, outlining strategies, protocols, and response mechanisms for emergency situations.
Cabinet Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also attended the meeting and participated in discussions on improving disaster preparedness in the state.

CM Dhami reiterated that Uttarakhand, being a disaster-prone state, requires continuous vigilance and advanced preparedness.
