The Punjab Government has highlighted its efforts against drug trafficking, with Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh sharing comparative figures on heroin seizures during different government terms.
According to the data shared by Dr. Balbir Singh on his official social media account, the Punjab drug crackdown under the Mann Government has resulted in higher heroin seizure figures compared to previous administrations.
The minister stated that strict action and the use of advanced technology, including anti-drone systems, have strengthened efforts to tackle cross-border drug smuggling.

As per the figures shared by Dr. Balbir Singh, the Akali-BJP government recorded heroin seizures of 2,817 kilograms during its 10-year tenure, while the Congress government recorded 2,412 kilograms during its five-year term.
The data claimed that the Mann Government seized 6,608 kilograms of heroin during its four years in power.
The government said these figures reflect its intensified approach towards the Punjab drug crackdown and efforts to control the illegal drug network in the state.
