AAP held a massive rally in Chhota Udepur backing MLA Chaitar Vasava, with party leaders accusing the BJP of targeting tribal leadership through false cases.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) organised a large public rally and mass gathering in Chhota Udepur in support of Dediapada MLA Chaitar Vasava, with senior party leaders alleging that the BJP government has targeted the tribal leader through false legal cases due to his growing influence among the people.
The rally witnessed the participation of AAP Gujarat Organisation General Secretary Manoj Sorathiya, Visavadar MLA Gopal Italia, youth leader Yuvrajsinh Jadeja, Narmada District President Niranjan Vasava, Chhota Udepur District President Radhika Rathwa, along with several party office-bearers, workers, youth volunteers, and a large number of supporters from tribal communities.
The event focused on issues concerning tribal rights, justice, land, forests, healthcare, and democratic representation, with speakers expressing solidarity with Chaitar Vasava and demanding what they described as fair treatment under the law.
Addressing the gathering, Gopal Italia alleged that the BJP government had imprisoned Chaitar Vasava because it fears his increasing popularity across tribal regions. He said working in the opposition is challenging and often comes with police action, yet thousands of people continue to join AAP despite such pressures.
Italia stated that many individuals have chosen to join AAP not for personal gain but to work for the welfare of ordinary citizens living in Gujarat’s remote regions. According to him, Chaitar Vasava has emerged as a leader who consistently raises public issues instead of engaging in conventional political rhetoric.
He further claimed that the growing public support for Chaitar Vasava has unsettled the ruling party, leading to what he described as politically motivated legal action. Italia urged party workers and supporters to continue standing with the tribal leader and strengthen the movement for justice.
AAP Gujarat Organisation General Secretary Manoj Sorathiya described the movement as a grassroots campaign that began in the forests of Dediapada and is gradually spreading across Gujarat. He claimed that dissatisfaction with the current government extends beyond tribal communities and includes farmers, livestock owners, traders, and industrial sectors.
Sorathiya expressed confidence that Chaitar Vasava would eventually secure legal relief and return to public life. He praised Vasava’s efforts in highlighting tribal concerns and said leaders like him have become powerful voices capable of challenging the political establishment.
Looking ahead to the next Gujarat Assembly elections, Sorathiya said AAP aims to build on its local electoral gains in Chhota Udepur and expand its presence throughout the region. He also referred to nationwide youth movements against alleged irregularities in the education system, saying public participation remains the strongest force in a democracy.

Narmada District President Niranjan Vasava highlighted the growing support for Chaitar Vasava through ongoing signature campaigns across multiple districts. He said the MLA has consistently raised issues related to forests, village roads, public health, and tribal welfare inside the Gujarat Assembly.
According to Niranjan Vasava, Chaitar Vasava has been entrusted with strengthening AAP’s presence across tribal constituencies stretching from Umargam to Ambaji. He alleged that the BJP has repeatedly filed false cases against the MLA because of his expanding political influence among tribal communities.
He also accused BJP leaders of attempting to manipulate local self-government institutions by using coercive tactics. Referring to past political disputes in Chhota Udepur Taluka Panchayat, he claimed elected representatives were allegedly abducted to influence the formation of power.
Calling for democratic politics, Niranjan Vasava said political parties should rely on public support instead of intimidation or misuse of administrative machinery. He asserted that tribal communities would continue to unite in defence of their constitutional rights and democratic values.
The rally concluded with party leaders reaffirming their commitment to supporting Chaitar Vasava while promising to intensify campaigns centred on tribal welfare, governance reforms, and public accountability across Gujarat.
