Punjab Cabinet Minister Dr Balbir Singh conducted a public outreach programme in the villages of Dhangera, Lubana Karamu and Lang in rural Patiala, where he interacted directly with residents and listened to their concerns.
During the village visits, residents brought various local issues to Dr Balbir Singh’s attention. He heard the concerns in detail and discussed possible solutions with the people and officials concerned.
Several Issues Resolved on the Spot
A number of issues raised by villagers were addressed during the outreach itself. Dr Balbir Singh also assured residents that the remaining genuine concerns would be taken up on priority and the required work would be completed at the earliest.
The direct interaction provided villagers with an opportunity to put forward their problems and suggestions without any intermediary. The focus remained on identifying local requirements and ensuring timely action.

Commitment to Rural Development
Dr Balbir Singh said that the overall development of villages and resolution of people’s problems remain a key commitment of the government. He emphasised the need to continuously engage with residents to understand ground-level requirements and improve basic facilities.
He said that development in rural areas should be based on the actual needs of the people. Regular public outreach can help identify issues at the local level and ensure that pending works receive appropriate attention.
Priority to People’s Concerns
The minister assured the villagers that issues requiring further action would be monitored and addressed according to priority. The concerned departments would be asked to take necessary steps so that legitimate demands are resolved without unnecessary delay.
