AAP questions Raghav Chadha’s voter status and raises allegations over electoral roll revisions, Mohali address and his name in Delhi voter records.
Political controversy has intensified over the voter registration of Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha, with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) raising questions about his electoral status and the process followed during the ongoing revision of voter lists.
AAP leader Anurag Dhanda, while addressing a press conference, questioned Raghav Chadha’s voter status and alleged irregularities in the electoral roll revision process. Dhanda also raised questions about the residential address in Mohali that Chadha has reportedly cited in connection with his voter registration.
AAP Questions Mohali Address Linked to Chadha
According to Anurag Dhanda, Flat No. 103 in Mohali, which has been associated with Raghav Chadha’s voter registration, is allegedly unoccupied. He questioned whether Chadha actually resides at the address and sought clarification over the circumstances under which the address was used for voter registration.
During the press conference, AAP leaders also showed a video that they said featured a journalist visiting the Mohali property. The party claimed that the footage showed the flat to be vacant, while a security guard allegedly said he had never seen Chadha living there.
AAP leaders used these claims to question Raghav Chadha’s voter status and his connection with the Punjab address.
Questions Over Delhi Voter List
Dhanda also raised questions about Chadha’s name appearing in Delhi’s electoral records. He questioned how Chadha’s name could have been included in the draft electoral roll after August 30 if it was allegedly absent from the earlier records.
The AAP leader sought an explanation about whether the prescribed application and verification process was followed before the name was included in the Delhi voter list.
According to the party, the issue requires clarification from the Election Commission, particularly regarding the timing and procedure involved in the alleged addition of Chadha’s name.
AAP Raises Issue of Voter Registration in Two Places
The controversy has also brought attention to the rules governing voter registration. Dhanda argued that a person cannot legally remain registered as a voter in two different constituencies at the same time.
He questioned Chadha’s position in light of his reported demand for restoration of his Punjab voter registration through the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. AAP argued that seeking restoration of a Punjab vote while also appearing in Delhi electoral records raises questions that should be addressed through official verification.
The party said that the Election Commission should clarify Raghav Chadha’s voter status based on official electoral records and the applicable rules.

Allegations of Irregularities in SIR Process
AAP also alleged that irregularities are taking place during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. The party claimed that voters are being added and removed under circumstances that require greater scrutiny.
Dhanda accused the BJP of attempting to influence the voter-list revision process, although these remain political allegations and were not independently established in the information provided.
The AAP leader called for greater transparency and demanded that electoral authorities ensure that every addition or deletion from the voter list follows the prescribed legal procedure.
Election Commission Asked to Ensure Transparency
The AAP has urged the Election Commission to publicly clarify the procedure followed in the case and provide transparency regarding the relevant electoral records.
The party said that voter-list revisions directly affect citizens’ right to participate in elections and therefore require accurate verification and adherence to established rules.
The controversy surrounding Raghav Chadha’s voter status comes amid a broader political debate over the ongoing revision of electoral rolls. The Election Commission’s official records and any clarification from the concerned authorities will be important in determining the facts of the matter.
For now, the allegations raised by AAP remain part of the political dispute, while questions concerning Chadha’s voter registration, the Mohali address and his reported presence in Delhi’s electoral records await authoritative clarification.
