Isudan Gadhvi targets the BJP government over alleged attacks on media and social media voices, while raising concerns over farmers, drugs and governance.
Aam Aadmi Party Gujarat State President Isudan Gadhvi has launched a sharp attack on the BJP government, alleging that the ruling establishment is attempting to silence critical voices and weaken the media, which he described as the fourth pillar of democracy.
Addressing a press conference, Isudan Gadhvi claimed that social media pages of individuals who raise issues concerning farmers, workers, the poor and other disadvantaged sections are being targeted. He alleged that government influence was being used to get certain pages removed from social media platforms.
Gadhvi Raises Questions Over Deleted Social Media Pages
According to Isudan Gadhvi, people such as Kajalben Suva and Anilbhai Patel had emerged as voices highlighting issues faced by farmers and other sections of society. He alleged that their social media pages were removed after government-related requests were made to Meta.
He strongly criticised what he described as an attempt to suppress dissent and said that political power should not be used to silence people who question the government.
The issue of social media restrictions has previously reached the Supreme Court as well. In August 2026, the court directed Meta to restore the Facebook and Instagram accounts of AAP’s Gujarat unit after the party challenged their blocking ahead of local body elections.
‘Politics Should Focus on Public Welfare’
During the press conference, Isudan Gadhvi said that AAP’s political approach is centred on development and public welfare rather than creating divisions among communities.
He questioned the pace of development in India compared with other countries and said that political discourse should focus on issues that directly affect ordinary citizens. He also argued that governments should work towards improving education, employment, healthcare and the economic condition of farmers and workers.
Attack on Tarun Chugh Over Gujarat Issues
Gadhvi also targeted BJP leader and Gujarat in-charge Tarun Chugh, raising several issues related to the state. He alleged that farmers were facing difficulties and questioned the government’s handling of law and order, alleged police misuse, the drug trade and paper-leak cases.
He also referred to tragedies linked to Gujarat’s prohibition policy and questioned the BJP leadership over the condition of employees and farmers.
These remarks were part of Gadhvi’s political criticism of the Gujarat government and were not independently established as facts in his statement.

Challenges Punjab and Gujarat CMs to Public Debate
Isudan Gadhvi also proposed a public debate between the Chief Ministers of Punjab and Gujarat. He suggested that the discussion should focus on law and order, farmers’ welfare, education policy and Mohalla Clinics.
He argued that such a debate could allow people to compare the policies and governance approaches of the two states on issues directly affecting citizens.
Raises Questions Over ₹21,000 Crore Drug Seizure
Gadhvi also brought up the seizure of a large drug consignment at Mundra Port, referring to the case as involving drugs worth around ₹21,000 crore. Court records show that the DRI seized approximately 2,988 kg of heroin from two containers at Mundra in 2021, with the consignment valued at around ₹21,000 crore.
He challenged Tarun Chugh to seek questioning of the Adani Group in connection with the issue. His remarks were framed as a political challenge, while the seizure itself is a documented past case.
Farmers and Employees Remain Key Political Issues
The AAP leader concluded by arguing that the condition of farmers and employees in Gujarat should receive greater political attention. Isudan Gadhvi said that political leaders should answer questions related to employment, agriculture, law and order, education and public welfare.
His latest remarks add to the ongoing political confrontation between AAP and BJP in Gujarat, where issues ranging from farmers’ concerns to social media restrictions and governance remain part of the political debate.
